This year marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Cornelia Connelly, foundress of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus. Many activities have been planned by the Society and its global ministries. Plans for our Mayfield Senior School celebrations include:
Our traditional Alumnae Homecoming Mass and picnic will launch our year of celebration.
At the heart of the Mayfield Senior School celebration will be a community commitment to complete “200 Actions” as a tribute to Cornelia Connelly and her “Actions not Words” credo. The entire Mayfield community is invited to initiate creative projects to make a difference in the lives of others.
Mayfield Senior School students, faculty and staff will honor Cornelia’s actual birthday with a special liturgy, all-school luncheon, and birthday cake celebration.
Barbara Mullen, SHCJ will explore the spirituality of the venerable Cornelia Connelly and its relevance in today’s world.
East Coast Mayfield alumnae and friends may wish to join the Holy Child Sisters on a walking tour of Cornelia’s birthplace and many sites significant to her life.
